Irak: Un soldat américain provoque Daesh sur «Pokémon GO»

 

In have been given a lot of attention recently because of my pokemon go use in iraq. I understand pop culture in bizarre places is something that grabs attention. However I hope most of the attention goes to the real reason I'm here in Iraq. I hope you'll pause to think a bit more about the war here, what it means for the world and the local people who are being persecuted by ISIS, and what you might do to help. I have been here twice now, for a total close to 8 months at this point, and been through a lot. I do not want this to become a joke. I have spoken to several interviewers who have reached out in order to control the details of the story. My personal info and location have been leaked negligently. I am not a media chaser and only talked to them to try to put more control on the story, which has sadly gotten out world wide. I don't need the attention, the Peshmerga and Dwehk Nawsha and the conflict with ISIL do. War is no joke, I've been through a lot here and even blown up during a recent engagement, bringing back a lot of my experiences from Afghanistan. Please if you see these articles, I want you to realize this. You can plug my IG and help support me, but Try to keep my personal info from getting out to much. Dont share them around. Ce soldat américain, ancien de la marine et vétéran d’Afghanistan, combat en ce moment les hommes de l’organisation de l’Etat islamique (EI) aux côtés de Dwekh Nawsha (milice qui défend les chrétiens d’Orient) sur le front de Mossul, en Irak. Et pour tuer parfois le temps il joue à Pokémon GO, le nouveau jeu mobile phénomène de Nintendo… et provoque Daesh.

Un carapuce en plein désert Irakien

Son message est accompagné d’une capture d’écran du jeu lancé en grande pompe ce 6 juillet aux Etats-Unis. On distingue très nettement une arme et un Carapuce (Pokémon de type « eau ») sur fond de désert irakien, théâtre des combats entre les Kurdes et l’EI.

Une réponse sur Instagram

La photo et le message provocateur ont rapidement fait le tour du Web, certains internautes accusant même Louis Park d’avoir voulu créer le « buzz ». Face à la fronde, l’intéressé a précisé sur son compte Instagram espérer « que tout cela aidera à attirer l’attention sur le combat des Peshmergas et des Dwekh en Irak ».

« Les gens savent que je ne suis pas ici pour moi, mais que je crois en ce que je fais. Ce n’est pas une blague. J’ai juste fait cette photo par insolence et parce que j’aime les Pokémon », poursuit le soldat. Si Louis Park a dû depuis « privatiser » son compte Facebook, beaucoup d’internautes espèrent aujourd’hui que le soldat puisse mettre bientôt la main sur un « Pikaslamique ».

 

Well...had to go private on fb I Hope This all helps draw attention to the peshmerga and Dwehk. Sad that it takes pop culture to do that. Half the articles are done with out consent including the first. People know I'm not here for myself and I believe in what I do. This is no joke. I'll watch what i post. I don't need the coverage, the Kurds and Assyrians do. I just made the picture post to be cheeky. I love pokemon. Woop de doo. If you see the articles, comment about the peshmerga And Dwehk. I'll try to use this to draw support for them best I can. I'd ask journalists to do the same.
